Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Mass Spectrometry Specialist to join our team in Kaiseraugst. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mass spectrometry, particularly in quantitative trace analysis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing robust analytical methods in GC-MS and LC-MS for small molecules, including feasibility studies, development, and validation. They will also coordinate international customer projects focused on trace analysis using GC-MS and LC-MS.

In addition, the Senior Mass Spectrometry Specialist will conduct analytical testing in compliance with GMP and ISO9001 standards. They will prepare and review technical documents, including analytical method development reports, protocols, and analytical test procedures.

The successful candidate will drive innovation by implementing new technologies and strategies to enhance analytical capabilities. They will provide expert troubleshooting and technical support to internal teams and clients.

Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and scientific excellence by maintaining and calibrating analytical instruments, ensuring consistent performance and adherence to regulatory requirements.

The Senior Mass Spectrometry Specialist will manage/coordinate quality events, deviations, out-of-specification (OOS) results, and implement CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Sciences, or a related field
  • Strong experience with LC-MS and GC-MS instrumentation and techniques, including method development, validation, and troubleshooting with at least 5 years of experience specializing in mass spectrometry, particularly in quantitative trace analysis
  • Proven experience in a GMP-regulated environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to build and maintain excellent customer relationships
  • Collaborative team player who is eager to share knowledge and contribute to the team's success while continuously improving personal capabilities
  • High level of discipline, sense of responsibility, and commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in German is an advantage
