Research Assistant for Ultra-Long Read Sequencing

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to support our cutting-edge research projects involving ultra-long read sequencing data generation and analysis. The successful candidate will develop and optimize wet lab protocols and workflows to collect high-quality sequencing data from various tissue sources and blood samples.
The Research Assistant will work closely with our sequencing facility to ensure robust protocols and stable sequencing yields. They will have access to ONT and PacBio technologies to generate data and contribute to the bioinformatic analysis of the generated data.
Active participation in user group meetings and relevant conferences is encouraged to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in this domain.
Our group contributes to the teaching in the study program Agricultural Sciences at ETH. Depending on the candidate's experience, they may contribute to supervising Bachelor/Master thesis and teaching existing courses, or develop novel lab-focused offers.
The ideal candidate has experience in the wet lab, is familiar with DNA and RNA purification and QC, and has experience with either ONT or PacBio sequencing. They are interested in applying state-of-the-art sequencing technologies to address scientific questions in an academic environment.
The Research Assistant will work closely with doctoral and postdoctoral researchers and support their projects. Applicants should hold a Bsc, Msc, or PhD degree in disciplines related to the advertised position.
