Financial Assistant

Mercanta, a leading coffee importer, is seeking a highly motivated and organized Financial Assistant to support the Finance Controller in our Kingston office. As a key member of our small team, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial data, managing online banking, and ensuring the company's cash flow position is up to date at all times.

• Update and maintain financial data using SAP
• Manage online banking, including foreign currency contracts, payments to suppliers, and chasing overdue accounts
• Maintain the company's cash flow position up to date at all times
• Apply for import loans with the bank, cancel loans, and oversee cash management on a day-to-day basis
• Perform daily/weekly bank reconciliations, including foreign currency accounts
• Assist with stock management and maintain accurate records of incoming shipments
• Develop and implement new administrative systems to improve efficiency

• At least a Maths A Level or equivalent
• Ideally some relevant work experience within a finance or office environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication and people skills
• Practical and accurate skills in Microsoft Office
• Ability to use own initiative and work within teams as appropriate
• Good analytical skills
