About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Applications Engineer to join our team in Zurich, Switzerland. As an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for demonstrating the capabilities of our software solutions to customers, identifying and developing potential sales accounts, and providing technical support and training to customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver simulation examples and demonstrations to prospective customers, primarily in the field of low-frequency EM.
  • Support customers in modeling their applications with COMSOL Multiphysics and provide technical guidance and training.
  • Identify and develop potential sales accounts in electrical engineering and initiate and participate in subsequent sales opportunities.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers, including running introductory training courses and EM-specific courses, webinars, and personalized on-line and live product demonstrations.
Requirements
  • MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
  • At least six months of experience in modeling electromagnetic applications with COMSOL Multiphysics.
  • Service-minded, business-oriented, outgoing personality, adaptive, and flexible.
  • Strong presentation skills, both in-person and on-line.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with quasi-native fluency in German or French and professional fluency in English.
  • Eligible to work in Switzerland (holder of Swiss B permit or higher or EU citizen).
Preferred Qualifications
  • In-depth experience with COMSOL software, especially the AC/DC Module or the RF Module.
  • Proven record of numerical modeling gained as part of project work at a commercial company, government research facility, or university.
  • Strong background in computational electromagnetism, Maxwell's equations, and numerical methods with demonstrated modeling experience in one or more of the following applications: electrical machines, transformers, high-voltage engineering, induction heating.
  • Familiarity with the Swiss R&D landscape.
