Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Operator to join our team at Squarepoint Capital. As a Commercial Operator, you will be responsible for managing physical metals inventory, working closely with the Investment team on new physical purchase and sale contracts, and checking documentation related to physical metal contracts.

  • Manage physical metals inventory, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to the Investment team.
  • Collaborate with the Investment team to negotiate and finalize new physical purchase and sale contracts.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of documentation related to physical metal contracts.
  • Prepare and review contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide regular inventory updates and reporting to the Investment team, ensuring they have the most up-to-date information.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of physical contracts and inventory, ensuring easy access and retrieval.
  • Arrange for inspections of inventory to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Coordinate logistics for the movement of metal globally, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in physical metals commercial operations and logistics.
  • Deep understanding of physical metals and their associated contracts.
  • Familiarity with LME and CME metals products, including pricing and market trends.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to calculate and interpret data related to physical metal contracts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of the importance of team collaboration and ability to establish long-lasting relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
  • Proficiency in relevant technology and applications, including inventory management systems and contract negotiation tools.

The minimum base salary for this role is $60,000 if located in New York. This expectation is based on available information at the time of posting. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, which could constitute a significant portion of total compensation. This role may also be eligible for benefits, such as health, dental, and other wellness plans, as well as 401(k) contributions.
