Job Summary

The Program Director will be responsible for planning and implementing the MSC Cruises Bahamas program, specifically the Super Coral Program and its Marine Conservation Center. This role will oversee the entire program, ensuring its successful delivery within the allotted timeframe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Planning
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive program plan, aligning with MSC Cruises' strategic vision for Ocean Cay and the Bahamas.
    • Set clear goals and objectives for the program, in coordination with MSC Cruises' management and stakeholders.
  • Program Operations
    • Manage the program's operational budget, ensuring cost control and optimization.
    • Coordinate activities with various stakeholders, including local authorities, academic partners, and MSC Cruises' representatives.
    • Ensure program operations adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation
    • Regularly monitor program progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to address challenges.
    • Oversee the construction of the Marine Conservation Center, ensuring timely procurement of equipment and materials.
    • Develop evaluation strategies to monitor team performance and determine the need for improvement.
  • Engagement and Coordination
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local, national, and international stakeholders, facilitating program implementation and expansion.
    • Advocate and influence local and national government and policy targets, ensuring program alignment with sector themes.
    • Provide regular updates to senior management, including detailed written reports and presentations.
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Create new initiatives and projects, aligning with MSC Cruises' strategic objectives.
    • Liaise with the MSC Cruises communication team to share program milestones and impact.
    • Develop the team and foster a positive, motivational working environment.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Excellent understanding of The Bahamas' governmental and civil society stakeholders in environment, marine conservation, and related areas.
  • Broad knowledge of program management principles and success records of complex programs implementation.
  • Strategic mindset and capacity to lead and materialize program activities efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing different levels of expectations and multi-dimensional program deliverables.
