We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to lead our research project on Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) at the Department of Health Sciences and Technology.
Responsibilities- Familiarize yourself with international databases collecting data on SCI patients, utilizing these resources to gain valuable insights.
- Implement state-of-the-art data science pipelines to analyze SCI recovery trajectories and injury patterns.
- Develop novel quantification metrics of injury severity and recovery through simulations based on clinical hallmarks of traumatic SCI.
- Collaborate with clinical experts to design an online recovery exploration platform and evaluate clinical trials in the context of traumatic SCI.
- Support junior researchers and contribute to an engaging, collaborative team environment.
- PhD in a relevant field such as data science, computer science, physics, or biomedical research.
- Proficiency in Python programming with expertise in machine and deep learning models using Keras/TensorFlow and/or PyTorch.
- Experience in software development, including collaborative coding, version control, and compute cluster utilization.
- Prior experience in biomedical projects with a background in interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly in SCI-related research, is advantageous.
- Motivation to work inclusively within a diverse team and drive innovation towards scientific excellence.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- A 2-year project-based contract at the BMDS lab.
