Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Postdoctoral Position at the Chair of Circular Engineering for Architecture. As a key member of our research team, you will contribute to the development of theoretical concepts for tools leveraging digital technologies for circular construction.
- Design and develop innovative tools and methodologies for circular processes along the value chain, including identification and categorization of reusable materials and design with reused elements.
- Explore implementation possibilities for automated workflows and digital technologies in new and existing construction projects.
- Use immersive technologies to enhance construction processes and training.
- Participate in research activities, including publishing scientific papers and presenting findings at conferences and workshops.
- Supervise Master, and/or Bachelor students, as well as teaching.
To be considered for this position, you should have:
- A PhD in architecture, civil engineering, or computer science with strong knowledge of the built environment or related fields.
- Strong research skills with an understanding of circular economy practices in the construction industry.
- A proven track record of research in construction or related fields.
- Knowledge and experience in data analysis and database management, as well as emerging technologies applied to the construction sector, such as BIM, scanning, machine learning, generative AI, and computer vision.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively, while also fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Strong communication and writing skills in English, enabling effective collaboration and the preparation of scientific publications and reports.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is a requirement; ability to work with industry partners in German is a plus.
- Ability to work in a team and together with industry partners.
