Key Responsibilities - Ensure that the biofuel operations comply with all relevant sustainability regulations and reporting requirements. - Keep the biofuels team informed of regulatory changes, including updates to the European Renewable Energy Directive (RED II), ISCC, and other national compliance frameworks. - Implement new regulatory requirements related to mass balance management and sustainability documentation. - Review and verify sustainability attributes of both inbound and outbound biofuel products, including supplier certifications, delivery documentation, inspection outcomes, mass balance entries, and GHG emissions data. - Authenticate all incoming and outgoing sustainability documentation to ensure it aligns with applicable regulatory schemes. - Ensure timely issuance of sustainability certificates and statements to relevant stakeholders and authorities. - Confirm that all completed trades are accompanied by accurate and timely sustainability documentation. - Validate that received certificates comply with ISCC standards and align with contractual terms. - Work closely with the Operations team to coordinate stock movements and ensure mass balance consistency by the end of each quarter. - Maintain and oversee the mass balance spreadsheet, ensuring that quarterly balances are fully auditable and compliant. - Monitor that all certificate usage and allocation within the mass balance system follows the regulatory requirements of each receiving country. - Collaborate with Operations to stay updated on vessel movements and share relevant logistics and stock data. - Produce forward-looking sustainability reports and track delivery notes to keep the desk informed. - Partner with the IT team to develop tools that improve traceability, automate data capture, and optimize mass balance tracking. - Respond to inquiries from Operations and provide additional information as required. - Manage external partner relationships, ensuring timely receipt of sustainability documents and tracking partner certification statuses. - Improve internal communication workflows within the sustainability desk and with third-party consultants. - Coordinate and support consultants in conducting timely and accurate regulatory audits, ensuring the provision of required documents and reports. - Conduct monthly internal compliance checks aligned with RED and ISCC frameworks. - Lead the planning and execution of annual ISCC certification audits. - Deliver onboarding sustainability training to new team members. - Carry out other related responsibilities as assigned by management. - Maintain strict confidentiality and always represent the company professionally. - Adhere to the organization’s internal policies, processes, and code of conduct. Job Specifications Educational Background - Bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related discipline - Professional certification in sustainability or compliance is a plus Experience - Minimum 5 years of experience in sustainability roles, preferably within the biofuels industry - At least 2 years of experience managing sustainability certifications, documentation, and third-party audits Knowledge - Strong understanding of sustainability regulations, especially the ISCC scheme - Advanced skills in data analysis, reporting, and documentation management - Practical experience conducting or supporting audits - Proficient in managing Mass Balance Systems Skills & Competencies - Proactive organizational and planning skills - Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail - Customer-focused with effective negotiation skills - Collaborative and supportive team player - Clear and effective in oral and written communication - Capable of working under pressure and managing multiple priorities - Solid problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset #J-18808-Ljbffr
