Part‑time job: Solar electric motorcycle mechanics Part‑time job: Solar electric motorcycle mechanics Engineering / Mechanics / CAD / Welding / Renewable Energy and mobility / East‑Africa E.Ride GmbH is a young startup developing battery packs and electric motorcycles for emerging economies (East Africa). We need support on a part‑time basis (one day per week or subject to availability/interest) to join our Zürich team of 4 and work on the metal part/mechanics/frame/cables etc. for our electric motorcycle prototype at our space near Hardbrücke. We are looking for: - Young ongoing mechanical engineer (female/male) (ZHAW / ETH / Polymech, Lehre etc.) - Hands‑on assembly, welding, soldering, construction and 3D printing – you’ll get your hands dirty. - Organized: can plan tasks, procure, sort and store necessary material, conduct testing campaigns and allocate your time when in an education program. - Self‑driven: schedule your work and tasks independently with minimal supervision – you need to get out of bed by yourself and work towards results. - Location: shared office space in the ZWZ near Hardbrücke in Zürich. - English or German speaking. - Team‑player: we can offer a few months of work in our Zambia office if interested. Skills - Good understanding of mechanics. - Hands‑on experience in CAD – we use Fusion 360, but experience with other CAD software is acceptable. - Sheet metal work. - Required: welding (MIG), drilling, bending, assembly. - Beneficiary: CNC plasma cutting. - FDM 3D printing / modelling (Bambulab / Prusa). - Basic understanding of electronics / electricity / batteries and some experience with soldering. - Optional: basic motorcycle maintenance, e.g., chain tensioning, brake replacement. - Motivation and willingness to learn is more important than experience – you must be able to try, fail and try again to achieve results. We offer CHF 700 per month for a 20 % position (one day per week), depending on skill level and interest. A young international team, experience in a startup environment, engineering with a purpose, a central and slightly chaotic location (ZWZ) in Zürich, and flexible working.
