The Climate Investment team is responsible for developing and managing sustainable impact funds, as well as other facilities, vehicles and platforms for investments in climate action. Our scope of expertise covers a variety of topics related to sustainable land-use, low-carbon energy, climate-smart cities and/or clean technology, to name just a few. **Job summary**:
The goal of the Manager is to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality assignments and platform management to international, regional or local clients on sustainability topics particularly related to infrastructure development and financing in cities for the public and financial sectors. You will assist the team in the development and overall management of funding/action platform/consultancy proposals and for the implementation of mandates with a focus on infrastructure development and financing in the urban sector particularly in Europe. You will provide technical guidance to the project teams. In addition, you can help in assisting the development of new products and solutions at South Pole to address sustainability challenges related to the infrastructure and financing sectors.

Specific to consultancy mandates, you will take an active role in preparation proposals, implementation of mandates, due-diligence, cross leveraging South Pole’s expertise, and risk management; ensuring that any undertaking maintains commercial viability and/or other measurable impacts as required by the specific mandate.

Specific to platform management mandates, you will take a role to support the platform manager in stakeholder engagement, network management, organization of events/meetings (physical or on-line) and communications.

**Main tasks & responsibilities**:

- Manage and supervise large/complex consulting and platform management mandates in the area of infrastructure development and financing throughout their entire project cycle: initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure
- Plan and implement mandates to ensure the most efficient and highest-quality implementation
- Interact and build relationships with our international, regional and/or local clients and manage the timely delivery of mandates
- Develop funding/consultancy/action platform, technical assistance proposals with the Key Account Management team and regularly generate own leads, actively contributing to the business development activities of the company
- Provide support on and technical leadership in the development of proposals on infrastructure development and financing for the public and financial sectors, as well as lead their technical review
- Develop and improve specialised skills and knowledge linked to topics and services offered by South Pole
- Manage small teams of specialists in a multi-stakeholder and multi-geographies context
- Support the development of South Pole’s thought leadership, services, products, marketing materials and offerings

**Requirements**:
Essential
- University degree in infrastructure development and financing and in a sustainability-related field
- Relevant work experience in technical assistance and platform management, sustainability consulting, grant/investment management, knowledge management, stakeholder engagement or other related fields
- Excellent project management skills, from both a technical and administrative standpoint, and proven ability to guide project teams in a multi-stakeholder and multi-geographies context
- Excellent writing skills, with proven expertise in creating and reviewing high-quality written documents (proposals and deliverables)
- Excellent stakeholder and client management skills
- Infrastructure-relevant connections, with a dense network of potential clients, collaborators or other relevant stakeholders
- Deep understanding of environmental sustainability challenges and specific technical assistance and/or platform management experience in the relevant areas of the practice
- Demonstrable commercial skills and good business sense so as to be able to identify and seize opportunities in a challenging and competitive market environment
- Excellent oral and written skills in English, as well as German, French, or Italian, or any other international language
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

- A Master’s degree or even a PHD degree would be an advantage
