The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the United Nations system’s designated entity for addressing environmental issues at the global and regional level. Its mandate is to coordinate the development of environmental policy consensus by keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of governments and the international community for action.
- Identifying major knowledge gaps in green growth theory and practice and addressing these gaps through the promotion of collaboration and coordinated research; and
- Using world-class knowledge management and communication tools to provide practitioners, policymakers, and other experts with opportunities to access, share, and utilize green growth policy analysis, guidance, information, and data.
The GGKP engages with its target communities through three online platforms, the Green Policy Platform (GPP), the Green Industry Platform (GIP) and the Green Finance Platform (GFP).
The Economy Division/ GGKP internship is for six (6) months.
The Internship is UNPAID and full-time.
Interns work five days per week (40 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.

Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
**Responsibilities**:
Under the direct supervision of the GGKP Knowledge Generation and Application Programme Manager and the overall guidance of the Head of the GGKP Secretariat, the intern will be responsible for:
- Supporting the GGKP Knowledge Generation and Application Programme and, in particular, its activities on (1) natural capital and (2) agrochemical management and finance.
- Identifying, assessing, collecting and categorizing green growth resources to be part of the GGKP resource library, including green growth research, data and case studies;
- Identifying and collecting information on projects being carried out by GGKP partners and other leading organizations in the field of green growth;
- Collecting and drafting, as appropriate, meeting summaries, background notes and abstracts of green growth research and analysis; and
- Supporting the GGKP office in organizing research-related meetings and web content.

Education
a. Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
b. Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent);
c. Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.
