**The opportunity**
We are currently looking for a **Control Panel Operator** to oversee, adjust and record the site’s central control system, ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our client's cement plant in Australia. You will also contribute to the site team’s goals of achieving high standards of production, compliance and product quality, optimising operational efficiency. You will be an integral part of a safety culture, leading by example and driving continuous improvement through training, work instruction development and positive feedback. This is a shift position on a 12-hour rotating roster working in collaboration with a shift team. Relocation package and visa will be provided.

**What the role entails**
- Oversee the central control room systems for all major process lines including equipment commissioning, startups, shutdowns and emergency condition management
- Keep a constant watch on all operation condition indications and trends; taking appropriate action to achieve the best outputs and process stability
- Regularly monitor plant process lines using available tools to ensure employee safety, reliable equipment operation, equipment integrity within design limits, operating targets and environmental regulations
- Ensure product quality at all stages of the cement manufacturing process by knowing the targets and the levers that are used to control the targets
- Work with Production Process Operators and Shift Team Leaders to ensure efficient running of the plant
- Respond to the control system alarms and escalate to plant resources to fix, inspect and maintain plant equipment as needed
- Understand the automation system control strategy and suggest ways for continuous improvement.
- Keep emissions levels below baseline compliance levels
- Occasionally check equipment data and report any potential or actual breakdowns to the Maintenance team
- Adjust controls to maintain optimal production rates and to avoid equipment damage
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with all employees and stakeholders at all key supply chain interfaces
- Demonstration of an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development

**What you will need**
- Extensive experience as Panel Operator, Control Room Operator or similar within the cement manufacturing process
- Previous exposure working in the cement industry
- Certificate level qualifications or higher in a related area are desirable
- Practical knowledge of all available production tools including operating procedures, DCS and SCADA systems
- Advanced problem-solving skills, proven by success in a central control room
- The ability to cope well with pressure and maintain effective decision-making skills
- A high level of computer literacy skills and ability to use job related systems
- Outstanding communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
