**Automation Vision - Engineering TA**:

The Energy Industries Division (PAEN) has an industry leading position focusing on standardizing automation related solutions, processes, and tools to secure global consistency, be competitive and drive continuous improvement. As part of this mandate, the Automation Vision - Global Automation Engineering Authority is the PAEN spearhead for automation engineering managing requirements from the related stakeholders, be the EN lead in related development workstreams and support deployment to projects. This position is graded as ‘technical authority” and you will be reporting to the Global Automation engineering manager.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Head the automation engineering strategy and vision for PAEN with focus on project execution efficiency and quality.
- Determine current metrics of engineering efficiency and develop a strategy to improve them via our products or external tools. Measure them over time and by product.
- Evaluate reasons for poor quality on engineering tasks and determine improvement strategies. Measure and document improvements.
- Main contact in PAEN for Corporate Research Center (CRC) and Process Control Products (PCP) R&D related workstreams and projects. Agility to adapt to new standards and utilize innovative technology, like AI.
- Owner of engineering related workstreams for Automation Vision interacting with PCP
- Owner of PAEN market requirements related to engineering tools and methods. Main contact point for HUBs, Local Divisions (LDs), Adaptive and Distinct products.
- Collaborate with Industry Business Managers, Technology Solution Managers, Engineering community/ Technical Authorities and Service to establish engineering strategy and requirements for individual industries and service business.
- Understand and discuss the products / technology gaps with respect to Adaptive Projects under execution in HUBs and LD's and communicate the same to PCP or PAEN Product Managers or Adaptive team
- Internal owner of the Intellectual Properties in PAEN related to Engineering, and act as main contact person within Engineering for all IPR matters in close collaboration with Global Intellectual Property Manager.

**Your background**:

- A recognized automation system specialist with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in the domain of specification, design, engineering, operations and maintenance of automation and safety related systems
- Relevant technical engineering degree and qualified as principal engineer
- Good technical understanding of ABB promoted automation portfolio
- Significant knowledge with Engineering lead roles in customer projects, and able to demonstrate an authoritative understanding of the relationships between end users, EPC’s (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) and suppliers
- Knowledge of market requirements and trends when it comes to engineering (OPAF, MTP, AAS, AI etc.)
- Benefit if basic knowledge on IPR and innovation processes are known.
- Experience with engineering tools, environments and information flow between EPC - Supplier and end customer
- Knowledge of EPC Engineering tools as Aveva, Comos, SPI and customer systems hosting engineering data is an advantage
