This consultancy will focus on developing 4-5 infographics using the content provided in a PPT file. The infographics will be based on 4 components namely, understanding the disaster-climate-health riskscape, Pathways to implement the health aspects of Sendai and Bangkok principles, building resilience in food systems and health infrastructures to mitigate impacts of the disaster-climate-health riskscape.

This consultancy is to complete work over a 6-week period commencing as soon as possible and will result in the following deliverables:

**Responsibilities**:
ORGANIZATIONAL SETTING AND REPORTING

Created in December 1999, the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) is the designated focal point in the United Nations system for the coordination of efforts to reduce disasters and to ensure synergies among the disaster reduction activities of the United Nations and regional organizations and activities in both developed and less developed countries. Led by the United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction (SRSG), United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction has over 100 staff located in its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, and in regional offices. Specifically, the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction guides, monitors, analyses and reports on progress in the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030, supports regional and national implementation of the Framework and catalyzes action and increases global awareness to reduce disaster risk working with U.N. Member States and a broad range of partners and stakeholders, including civil society, the private sector, parliamentarians and the science and technology community.

Background and Objective

In 2015, 187 member states including Thailand adopted the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030, the global framework that focuses on preventing new and reducing existing disaster risks as well as increasing preparedness for response and recovery. The Framework adopts an all-hazards approach and applies to both natural and human-induced or man-made hazards, as well as biological, environmental and technological hazards in order to strengthen resilience to disasters.
The International Conference on the Implementation of the Health Aspects of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 in 2016 hosted by Thailand advocated the integration of the health into national disaster risk reduction policies and strategies. The discussion concluded with the endorsement of “the Bangkok Principles for the Implementation of the Health Aspects of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030”. The Bangkok Principles provide a blueprint for strengthening the integration of health and disaster risk reduction and building resilient health systems at all levels. They call for an inter-operable, multi-sectoral approach to promote systematic cooperation, integration and, ultimately, coherence between disaster and health risk management.

The convergence of COVID-19 along with natural hazards increased complex disaster risk which triggered compounding and cascading risk landscape across sectors. In this regard, the 77th Session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) Commission, held during 26 - 29 April 2021, adopted a resolution proposed by Thailand under the theme of “Building back better from crises through regional cooperation in Asia and the Pacific”. The resolution considers the Bangkok Principles as one of the important initiatives to strengthening post-COVID-19 resilience as well as encourages member states to enhance the health aspects on disaster risk reduction and response to health crises in the region by taking note of the Bangkok Principles.

To take this forward and translate the principles into concrete actions in Thailand, Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) as National Focal Point on the implementation of the Sendai Framework, in collaboration with UNDRR will launch a series of three promotional animated videos on the Bangkok Principles for the implementation of the health aspects of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030.

Qualifications/special skills
High School Diploma is required. Technical qualification or first-level university degree in a relevant field of creative arts, interactive media, 3D animation and visual effects or digital editing is desirable.
