Company Description
MET International AG (METI) was established in 2010 in order to consolidate and develop MET Group’s international natural gas sales and purchase portfolio, as well as to establish a trading arm for commodity lines.
METI is responsible for providing highly competitive supply structures to its gas and power sales affiliates, originating additional positions on the European wholesale and the international LNG markets, as well as trading around international positions. Besides being the business consolidator of the entire MET Group, METI is the sole interface and trading arm towards Western European markets via natural gas and power trading on liquid trading hubs, wholesale origination and logistics services.
**Job Description**:
- Create new business opportunities on mid to long term scope in line with MET LNG desk strategy
- Continue to develop a strong understanding and view of mid to long term supply and demand opportunities
- Screening of counterparties for potential opportunities for mid to long term sales and purchases
- Develop and manage relationships with counterparties in the region for mid to long term opportunities in line with LNG desk strategy
- Make/evaluate Key Terms proposals and HoAs, progress buyers and sellers to detailed contract negotiations
- Delivering commercial terms and secure binding commitments (period, prices, flexibility, etc)
- Manage SPA negotiation process and align terms with the counterparty in line with MET LNG desk strategy and company guidelines
- Ensuring understanding and adherence to MET policies, trading compliance policies and standards, and Code of Conduct
- Supporting the LNG trading and portfolio teams in making offers or bids in the mid and long term for the region, including participation in tenders
- Progress counterparties in a timely manner internally and for MET externally with counterparties on documentation exchange (NDA/CA, KYC, etc.)
- Support deal booking process of contracts in the system once contracts are executed
- Act as contract manager for executed contracts (SPAs/HoAs/MoUs) once completed
- Other ad hoc/projects to support the LNG business needs
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum 7-10 years of experienced in origination/business development for LNG with proven track record of success in the development, negotiation and management of LNG business
- Deep knowledge of LNG industry to engage with LNG counterparties and develop deals among a range of counterparts in the industry
- Has a focus on understanding and delivering value to external and/or internal stakeholders. Willing to put in effort to listen and work successfully with customers to achieve “win-win” outcomes
- Analytical thinker, ability to deal with complex market arrangements and to understand and specify models and analysis required to support commercial decisions and understand market conditions
- Ability to understand value drivers and identify counterparty perceptions of value
- Ability to understand and negotiate LNG contract
- Ability to understand risk and identify contractual mitigations, judging the trade-off between risk and return
- Possess a good collaborative working attitude, keen to learn, good team player, good communication skills
- Ability to work cooperatively as a team and stay committed together on the task at hand
- Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with employees at all levels within the company
- Detailed, well organized and able to multi - task and manage multiple projects at the same time, prioritizing required actions accordingly to meet required deadlines
- Good organization and time management skills
- Meticulous analytical skill with an eye for details to ensure minimum errors in work
- Ability to take initiative and be proactive
- Proficient in Microsoft office and ETRM system (preferably ENDUR)
- Good communication skill with good command over written and spoken English
