Your responsibility
Manage a portfolio of industrial property and engineering claims from notification through to closure
Guide more junior members of the claims team on smaller claims
Ensure timely and accurate recording of new claims and updates to existing claims
Maintain overview of claims development and referral to senior management in accordance with department guidelines
Ensure claims are properly investigated and recorded, including instructing external legal and technical experts where appropriate
Advocate on behalf of Helvetia at claims meetings and settlement negotiations
Determine correct liability in accordance with the insurance contract and authorize payment of claim
Defend Helvetia's decision on liability with internal and external partners
Communicate with Underwriting department on progress and outcome of claim and recommendations for future contracts

**Location**: Zürich Stettbach or Basel and Flex-Office

**Your qualification Minimum**:
At least 3 years of industrial property, power, energy, or construction claims experience in international markets
Excellent spoken and written English and good spoken and written Germa, any other European languages would be an advantage
Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office
Self-reliant, patient, and adaptable
Excellent interpersonal skills
Commitment to developing claims management knowledge

**Advantageous**:
CII qualification, or similar
Knowledge of claims management in the USA or Europe
Industry or other non-insurance experience
