**Contexte**:
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of five Swiss university hospitals. Through its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and the EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in the areas of medical care, medical research and training.

**Mission**:
**Scope of the Project**

Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) play vital roles in the tumor microenvironment, impacting cancer progression and therapy response. Amongst those, especially M2-polarized TAMs exert strong immunosuppressive effects. Accurate whole-body assessment of M2-like macrophage infiltration, using non-invasive nuclear imaging and a CD206-targeted radiopharmaceutical, may be instrumental for patient selection and enhancing cancer immunotherapies.

The PAC-MAN project aims to develop a peptide-based theranostic tracer using a hexapeptide sequence as scaffold. Initial results with a 68Ga-labeled pilot compound showed efficient CD206 targeting, but low in vivo stability. PAC-MAN focuses on optimizing the tracer's CD206 affinity, pharmacokinetics, and stability through chemical modifications of the peptide sequence, using iterative in vitro and in vivo experiments.

Essential experience and skills:

- You have a Master’s degree in organic chemistry, (radio) pharmaceutical chemistry or similar
- You have already acquired solid practical competences in organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry, including solid phase peptide synthesis, as well as in all aspects of the purification and quality control of synthetic products
- You are at ease operating analytical and preparative HPLC systems
- You have excellent command of English, both spoken and written
- You have a positive, interactive and agile mindset and enjoy continuously expanding your experimental and theoretical competences.

Desirable experience and skills:

- Previous experience in handling radioactivity and performing radiolabeling procedures
- Practical experience with cell culture and in vitro assays
- Practical experience in molecular biology
- Theoretical knowledge of pharmacology and human physiology.
