**About the job**:

- This is a great opportunity for an experienced legal professional to build the legal function at a fast-paced, growing MedTech company. VP legal will be responsible for supporting the company in all legal matters, including R&D, supply and commercial contracts, employment matters, privacy, IP, corporate governance, litigation, partnerships, and technology transactions. Reporting to the CFO, this person will work closely with business partners throughout the company, advising on contracts, risks, and other business matters. This individual will also help to establish tools and processes to support a fast-growing business.**Responsibilities**:

- Act as the legal Business Partner, delivering timely, pragmatic, and business-focused legal counsel to business partners and other internal stakeholders
- Manage the legal function at ONWARD, including drafting and managing variety of legal agreements, including supply chain/sourcing deals, development, and commercial agreements
- Advise on employment law matters, privacy and data security, corporate governance, marketing, trademark, and other legal matters that arise
- Manage outside counsel in specialty areas
- Manage litigation matters
- Develop internal policies to ensure compliance with regulations
- Identify, propose, and implement solutions to address risk, where applicable
- Exercise good judgment in all matters

**About You**:

- Legal degree and bar or equivalent exam
- At least 10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably including both in a law firm and in-house in the life-science industry
- Significant experience in creation, review and negotiating of vendor contracts (R&D, operations and commercial agreements)
- A corporate level of experience with records, review of committee charters, annual reports, annual returns would be of benefit
- Experience with employment law, intellectual property, strategic partnerships, litigation, licensing, privacy, and/or data security a plus
- Exceptional judgment, with the ability to think strategically and give practical advice appropriately weighing legal and business objectives
- Entrepreneurial mindset; flexible, self-starter and hard-working
- Deal-focused with a sense of urgency to get things done
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
