**CONTEXT**
As the Group Chemical Safety & Occupational Hygiene Manager, you will manage (with the support of the Group Head of HSE) and lead the Group’s strategy for:
- Chemical Safety
- Occupational Hygiene
- Compliance against legal and Group chemical safety and occupational hygiene requirements
In addition to the above, the position will also support the Group Head of HSE with other tasks as directed.
The scope of the role will cover Richemont Operations globally, including:
- Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- All Richemont Group entities, staff, and operations
**HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?**
**Chemical safety and occupational hygiene strategy**
- Lead the Group’s chemical safety and occupational hygiene (CSOH) strategy to ensure life safety arrangements are clear, communicated and implemented throughout the Group
- Lead and coordinate the Group Chemical Management Committee
- Liaise with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure suitable and sufficient CSOH controls in line with current and foreseeable applicable legislation and Group risk appetite
- Deliver advice and support to entities (i.e. HSE Representatives, Manufactures, Repair Centres, etc.) in their CSOH strategy
- Ensure that relevant minimum standards, guidelines, and other documents are provided, accurate and available for users
- Manage the Group central repository tool for chemical safety data sheets
- Ensure CSOH training is developed and provided to all involved
- Evaluate innovative chemical process solutions, technology and support early adoption of safer chemical substitution options in liaison with the Group Research & Innovation and the Chemical Competence Centre teams
- Identify and assess the chemical and other workplace health risk exposure level of existing operations on request
- Identify chemical and other workplace health risk exposure scenarios and take them into consideration for the CSOH strategy and emergency planning
- Advise on safety concepts for hazardous material storage locations and ATEX environments
- Review CSOH incidents, accidents, chemical spills, and near misses and recommend follow up actions where appropriate
- Stay informed of plans for renovations or new (CSOH-related) construction projects and serve as a resource in providing regulation/legislation and internal standards to assist with the design and construction process
- Review spill, waste and destruction requirements for the Group, providing instruction, guidance, and support as necessary to sufficiently manage the risk
- Report regularly on CSOH strategy, including objectives and targets status to management
- Support the Groups’ Chemical Management Committee, providing agenda material concerning risk assessment, regulation/legislation, chemical substitution/reduction, new processes/equipment, best practice sharing, incidents/investigation, etc.
- Conduct site visits of relevant sites, to review, assess and analyse CSOH processes
- Support the compliance/risk assessment process to ensure suitable and sufficient CSOH compliance activities, as per annual compliance programme
**HSE Management**
- Support the Group Head of HSE with strategy, projects, operations, and tactics as directed
- Manage HSE service partners and consultants to deliver HSE services/projects as necessary and directed
- Participate in the preparation and organization of the different management meetings and committees
- Collaborate with the Group Security team on transversal projects and topics as directed
- Participate in the organization of the different Group HSE events including campaigns and seminars
**WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE?**
- Chemical engineering degree or equivalent (mandatory)
- Occupational Hygiene higher-level qualification (preferred)
- Min. 5 years experience in a related field
- Knowledge of Swiss HSE and chemical safety legislation, knowledge of other European HSE and chemical safety legislation would be a plus
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues
- Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style
- Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics
- Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and other stakeholder groups to take desired action
- Fluent in English and French is mandatory, additional languages are an asset
