**Description**

As “R&D Team Manager Traction Transformers”, you will lead our team of talented R&D engineers who develop next technologies and products for our traction transformer business as well as next-generation transformers such as Hybrid Transformers, Solid State Transformers and Medium Frequency Transformers. You will be part of a global R&D community including Technology Centers and Research Centers worldwide.

**Main Tasks**
- Lead and develop our R&D team focusing on traction transformers, medium frequency transformers and power electronics
- Guide, motivate and develop team members with the support of HR processes
- Ensure appropriate competencies are acquired, developed, and retained within the team to support development of future products and systems.
- Support Global Product Manager and Technology Manager in elaborating the R&D roadmap.
- Execute the share of R&D roadmap assigned to the local team, planning and ensuring an optimal project portfolio for the team.
- Support appropriate protection of newly created intellectual property, assist in defense and enforcement activities of related technology.
- Ensure information flow among all relevant parts of the organization. Set up and maintains channels for sharing knowledge and state-of-the-art from different sources
- Act as local technology expert for special tasks in the wider organization. Manages cooperation with local universities.
- Collaborate with local organization/factories to ensure hand-over of R&D work to the business, provide technical support from the R&D team in case of significant technical or quality problem in the business.
- Foster an innovative and collaborative team culture based on mutual trust.

**Requirements**:

- Master or PhD degree in engineering or applied sciences.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong understanding of management and leadership principles.
- Experience with project management.
- Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies.
- Action-oriented mindset
- Proficiency in mechanical design, electrical design or power electronics would be an asset.
- More than 5 years working experience in the relevant field (preferably in the energy industry)
- Fluent in English, French is a plus
