The role-holder will work closely with the Group Corporate Affairs function and Group level leaders to create plans that deliver global impact aligned with our business and people strategies, underlining the global role Glencore plays in responsibly sourcing the commodities that advance everyday life.
**The main tasks and responsibilities include**:
- Lead strategic discussions with senior leaders to align employee communications plans with business and people strategies, ensuring synergy across all parts of the business.
- Identify engagement and communication needs across various departments and locations partnering with senior leaders, commodity departments and cross-functional teams including HR, HSEC, Finance, IT, and Legal to foster strong relationships and drive topic specific initiatives to enhance employee engagement, advocacy, and talent attraction and retention.
- Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive employee-led communications strategies aligned with Glencore’s business strategy, Purpose, Values and culture.
- Utilise a broad spectrum of communications and engagement channels and platforms to reach diverse employee demographics effectively encompassing employees at both assets and offices.
- Create innovative campaigns at pace to address Group-wide business imperatives leveraging employee communications and engagement activities to support (digital) transformation, culture enhancement and wider organisational change.
- Ensure there is consistency in line with the Glencore brand and design guidelines across all Group employee collateral.
- Track employee sentiment, engagement and morale proactively in collaboration with other people-focused teams to enhance employee communications campaigns and inspire, motivate and enable high performance across the Group.
- Drive campaigns which foster a culture of openness, transparency, collaboration and high performance across the Group through appealing communications and engagement activities in line with our Values of safety, integrity, responsibility, openness, simplicity and entrepreneurialism.
- Build and enable a high-performing employee communications team to ensure sustained success in delivering on the employee communications strategy while nurturing individual growth. Develop effective trusted advisors and business partners who can collaborate seamlessly with other functions and departments across the business.
- Bachelor's degree in communications, Human Resources, organisational psychology, change management or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Demonstrated senior leadership capabilities with extensive proven experience building and managing high-performing teams across multiple locations and achieving results in a dynamic environment.
- A strategic thinker with a proven ability to develop and implement strategic communications, culture and transformation initiatives that align with organisational goals, leveraging team resources effectively and efficiently.
- Proven track record in corporate communications, culture, change management, employee engagement or internal communications preferably within the mining industry or a related field with a track record of successful implementation.
- Experience in navigating complex, global organisations with diverse business units and geographical locations.
- Strong interpersonal abilities capable of forging relationships, collaborating with senior leaders and influencing stakeholders throughout all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to foster and work in an open and collaborative environment, and coach and develop team members to build individual and team capabilities.
- Proficient in utilising communications and engagement methodologies, tools, and platforms such as intranet systems, global campaign frameworks, communications and people-related tools and digital collaboration platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and adept at tailoring messages and communications initiatives to a wide range of audiences - at both assets and offices.
- Native or fluent English speaker required, with other languages being an advantage.
