**Linux Database Administrator** ? This position is for youMeanquest is an IT company on a human scale with several areas of expertise: infrastructure, support, cloud solutions and recruitment, but above all our job is to give meaning to our customers' IT and to the day-to-day work of our teams. We have 3 sites (Ecublens, Meyrin and Givisiez) and we regularly recruit people who want to take on responsibility and work in a young, dynamic environment.For our customer based in Geneva who is looking to strengthen its systems administrator team with an open source (Linux oriented profile). We are looking for a Linux database administrator.**MAIN TASKS**
- Act as architect and engineer to design and implement scalable, high-performance databases that can meet business and solution needs.
- Manage end-to-end availability, performance monitoring and capacity planning for PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, MongoDB using native and third-party tools.
- Lead migration on open-source engines to containerization (either to OpenShift or Azure Kubernetes Services).
- Ensure that monitoring, logging and alerting are implemented and integrated with monitoring tools in line with standard and business requirements.
- Act as an expert to identify query language optimizations and work with Hybrid Cloud colleagues working on core infrastructure.
- Act as a coach to support certain colleagues in their technical knowledge.
- Practice incident and request management.
**PROFILE**:
- University degree in a technical field
- 5 years' experience in the administration of a multi-user environment with expertise in the planning, design, construction and implementation of complex database systems.
- Over 5 years' production experience with MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- In-depth experience of monitoring / logging / alerting systems (Prometheus / Grafana).
- Strong experience in Linux administration (and containerization will be highly appreciated).
- Self-reliant, pragmatic, and proactive
- Strong integration and teamwork skills
- Fluent in English and French
**STRENGTHS**
- Experience in database containerization (best practices, methodologies, migration...).
- Experience working with cloud providers (Azure) on RDBMS and NoSQL deployment.
- Experience in infrastructure automation / provisioning tools (PowerShell / Ansible playbook).
- Experience in using Microsoft TFS, including PBI management (creation, tracking).
- Experience with Elastic Search and/or Splunk.
