Your Role:
You will manage commercially one of Sony’s key strategic product groups - maximising sales, profit, brand awareness and purchase consideration. As a Product Manager, you will build strong dealership relationships to maximize sales, profit, brand awareness and purchase consideration.
Guided by our Pan-European strategy, you’ll rigorously analyze your product categories to set annual budgets and forecasts. From there, you’ll be a motivating partner to the sales and brand activation teams tasked with implementing your plans, using your data-driven insights to adapt strategies for the local market.
Your responsibilities:
- Market analysis, GFK analysis, local feedback, to understand key drivers and growth factors (pricing, line-up, distribution channels)
- Prepare competition overviews & benchmarks
- Defining product range, price, distribution, promotion and communication strategies within their area of responsibility
- Define business strategy suggestions covering pricing, advertising & promotion, product-line up and market segments
- Ensuring the optimal availability of products, manage and monitor inventories
- Monitor progress against agreed budgets, targets and plans or revised estimates on a regular basis
- Communicate with sales organisation for product launch, promotional activity, pricing, distribution strategies.
- Close collaboration with various departments, including Sales, Controlling/Finance, Communication, Supply Chain
- Weekly review of net sales and profitability development and fast decision for necessary pricing actions
- Understand retail pricing structure to propose the best offers on promotional opportunities
- Develop comprehensive promotion to enhance the value of the product range
- Coordinate European promotions' implementation for Austria
- Support Sales in their promotion activities through physical support, presentation materials.
- Manage Product life cycle (Model launch QTY, EOL management, tactical pricing)
- Take timely and appropriate action in case of product rework/recall when happened for all models
- Set monthly & rolling Forecasts and input in SAP
- Manage monthly PSI in order to maintain quality inventory of products in coordination with planning department in Europe and Japan
- Consolidate sales forecasts and monitor allocation plan when necessary
Your Profile:
- Bachelor/Master degree in Business Administration, Economics or similar
- Product Marketing business experience; Commercially-minded, preferably with a sales background in a FMCG or Consumer Electronics environment
- Experience in sales forecasting and sales evaluation
- Ownership, Ambition, Adaptability, Creativity

- Team player
- Entrepreneurial approach to react to the rapid moving dynamics
- Relationship building & influencing skills
- Significant analytical abilities and experience with commercial reporting & analysis
- Knowledge of the consumer electronics industry; Competitors, Retailers and Consumers.
- IT knowledge of SAP, SAP BW, PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
- Excel expertise (incl. Pivot tables) combined with the ability to analyze and interpret data which lead to great business plans
- Fluent in written and spoken German and English is required
- Willingness to travel within Switzerland and Austria and internationally mainly to our European Sony Headquarter in South-West London
The position will be based in our Zurich office with regular travels to our Vienna office as required.
