**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Supply Chain & In-Market Quality Major Markets/EU, the Sub Cluster Lead is responsible for providing Quality leadership for a group of Major Markets (e.g. Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Switzerland) and ensuring that a quality management system is implemented, and Compliance is maintained for the distribution activities with BMS products in this range of Markets where BMS and Local Representatives operate. The Sub Cluster Lead manages a team of In-Market Quality Responsible Persons and ensures consistent and harmonized practices across the markets and drives continuous improvement.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Leads and influences a dynamic and diverse staff of Quality professionals across the Markets and ensures the proper skill set and talent development for the team.
- Ensures GMP/GDP and Local regulations compliance in Sub-Cluster & accountable for local licenses including BMS SA.
- Single point of contact for LR representative markets to Commercial and Global Supply chain counterparts.
- Quality Decision maker, where required, for quality events occurring in the Markets and participates in global processes for market actions.
- Drives consistency and harmonization for Quality processes across the Markets.
- Ensures inspection readiness in the Markets for health authority inspections and for global internal audits and provides Quality leadership and team support during the inspections and audits.
- Ensures that responsibilities and tasks assigned to the Quality team are correctly managed in the markets.
- Ensures robust Quality System processes and trending practices are in place and effective.
- Ensures that self-inspection, Training, QRM, and Supplier and Customer qualification programs are implemented in the Markets and that mock recalls are performed.
- Links the Supply Chain & In-Market (SCIMQ) people strategy with the team, ensuring regular talent discussions and people development.
- Acts as delegate for the Senior Director, Cluster Lead and may represent on Senior Leadership forums.
- Collaborates across Global Quality, Commercial organization the role supports, as well as other stakeholder groups across the organization.
- Owns resource planning for the group and ensures alignment with strategic priorities within Global Quality and the business.
- Partners with peer In-Market Lead roles to identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement of the In-Market Quality Management system.
- Ensures a healthy Quality Culture in the Markets and Commercial organization, as well as other stakeholder groups.
- Deals with complex issues using critical analysis and develops ethical, reasoned solutions to meet both business and regulatory requirements.
- Maintains high standards of performance, consistently collaborates with all stakeholders across a highly matrixed organization and follows through on commitments.
- Takes the long view, and when faced with challenging obstacles, exemplifies always doing what is in the best interest of patients.
- Influences and affects the organization by communicating quality issues and decisions, which have an impact on the business.
- Ensures compliance of the Markets to all BMS requirements, including product distribution and transportation.
- Leads and drives continuous improvement activities across the business.
- Active participation in company business growth objectives for Quality alignment.
- Is an extended member of the SCIM leadership team and represents Quality at respective forums.
- Ensures that Quality Councils are conducted in the Markets and ensure participation of the Markets in the respective Governances.
- Implements adequate interpretation and action plans for Quality metrics achievement, when necessary.
- Ensures Quality participation in business reviews with strategic and local logistics partners in the Markets.
- Ensures that a bi-directional Regulatory Surveillance process is in place in the Markets.
**Qualifications & Experience**:
- Bachelor’s degree in sciences preferably in Pharmacy; a master’s or advanced degree preferred.
- At least 10 years of progressive managerial experience within Quality functions in the pharmaceutical or health care industries.
