Why we are recruiting

Within the World Economic Forum’s Centre for Nature and Climate (CNC), we are setting up a new agenda to develop thought and action leadership in philanthropy, with the aim to catalyse impact at speed and scale through multi-stakeholder collaboration to achieve critical goals across the climate and nature agenda.

This involves the launch of the global initiative
_Giving to Amplify Earth Action (GAEA) - Call to Action_. GAEA looks to build successful philanthropic-public-private collaborations across climate and nature. According to the Climate Works Foundation in 2021 out of all philanthropic giving globally, less than 2% goes to climate mitigation (According to ClimateWorks Foundation).

Through exclusive regional strategic partnerships, the Initiative will seek to drive impact at the regional level while ensuring regional integration and representation at the global level, through three levers of activity:
- Thought leadership: sharing and exchanging knowledge and insights on pertinent issues on the nature and climate agenda.- New partnerships through communities of purpose and action: bringing together- stakeholders and champions of the nature and climate agenda.- Programmes to accelerate regional nature and climate action: supporting curation and community building.

This new Lead role will be responsible for all programme curation and communications coordination for the Asia chapter, all GAEA related global events, coordination of GAEA related communications, and supporting the nature and climate programming at Forum flagship events (Annual Meeting in Davos, Annual Meeting of the New Champions and Sustainable Development Impact Meetings).

Reporting Lines & Interactions

This position will sit in the core Impact & Engagement team at CNC, that is tasked with delivering the GAEA initiative on climate & nature philanthropy. This position also requires interaction with other relevant teams within the World Economic Forum, including the Public Engagement team, Global Programming Group, Philanthropic Organizations and other community engagement teams as well as relevant Nature and Climate programs and initiatives.

This position will report to Luis Alvarado, who leads Global Strategic Engagement for GAEA and regional partnerships, with a direct line to Emma Benameur for everything related to Forum’s global flagship events.

Breakdown of main responsibilities- Programme and Events - Design, development and delivery of events and programming relevant to Asia strategic partnership, including Philanthropy Asia Summit and Global philanthropy Asia engagement.- This involves planning and calendaring of events, marketing and invitation / registration process, as well as seamless delivery of event.-
- Some events may be in co-hosting or supporting capacity-
- Support for Forum flagship events - Annual Meeting, Sustainable Development Impact Summit and AMNC.-
- Communications - Coordination of content and material creation for the philanthropy agenda in Asia through the Philanthropy Asia Alliance/Temasek Trust collaboration- Support in the creation of materials, stories, blogs, and content strategy around elevating Asian voices, innovators and solutions in the climate and nature space, to disseminate across Forum channels - working closely with the Public Engagement and Media teams-
- Liaison with the Public Engagement team for media and comms initiatives for CNC-
- Manage event planning and logistics for Forum meetings and regional events, as well as external workshops and partner meetings- Experience in working international programming of events, agendas, curation of communities- Experience project management skills to coordinate different stakeholders across different teams and geographies to keep everybody on track on key deliverables and products.- Ensure that all project content is accurate and up-to-date

Preferred Requirements and Experience- University-level education- 5-7 years’ relevant work experience- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English- Strong organizational skills- Interest in sustainability and environmental issues, technology and innovation- Experience in project management, designing of reports and core project deliverables.- Experience around programming, agenda setting and strategy curation in climate and nature around global international events is plus.
