Minimum qualifications:

- Master's degree in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, Operations Research, Bioinformatics, Economics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB, pandas) and database languages (SQL).
- Experience mentoring and coaching team members, or people management experience in a technical environment.

Preferred qualifications:

- PhD in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer science, or Mathematics.
- Experience with statistical data analysis such as multivariate analysis, stochastic models, sampling methods.
- Ability to initiate and drive multiple successful improvement initiatives inside and across the organization.

**About the job**:

Quantitative Analysts work all across the organization to help shape Google's business and technical strategies by processing, analyzing and interpreting huge data sets. Using analytical excellence and statistical methods, you mine through data to identify opportunities for Google and our clients to operate more efficiently, from enhancing advertising efficacy to network infrastructure optimization to studying user behavior. As an analyst, you do more than just crunch the numbers. You work with Engineers, Product Managers, Sales Associates and Marketing teams to adjust Google's practices according to your findings. Identifying the problem is only half the job; you also figure out the solution.

With your leadership and professional expertise, you manage a team of analysts, plan project goals and lead the overall strategy for your group. You are a recognized authority in your functional area and develop, organize and launch projects that span engineering and analysis.

The team's mission is to enable great product decisions in Ads through rigorous analysis and powerful analysis methods.

We work with the Product teams around us on the most important ad products at Google. These products include text ads, shopping ads, as well as new products like Discovery ads. All of these areas are complex, rapidly evolving, and core to Google's business.

Users come first at Google. Nowhere is this more important than on our Advertising and Commerce team: we believe that ads and commercial information can be highly useful to our users if that information is relevant to what our users wish to find or do. Advertisers worldwide use Google Ads to promote their products; publishers use AdSense to serve relevant ads on their website; and business around the world use our products (like Google Shopping, and Google Wallet) to support their online businesses and bring users into their offline stores. We are constantly innovating to deliver the most effective advertising and commerce opportunities of tomorrow.

**Responsibilities**:

- Help push the limits of product analysis, experiment design, causal inference, and metric work, collaborating with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and other Data Scientists.
- Manage a team and work as part of a team of analysts to run deep product analysis work, provide analytical guidance for our biggest launches, and push the limits of our metrics, methods, and measurement capabilities.
- Collaborate with our Engineering and Product partners, help identify opportunities for our ads products, navigate rapidly changing demands, and work on solutions for complex, ambiguous, high-visibility business challenges.
- Collaborate results with decision makers, upholding the Ads Metrics team's methods in, code, analysis reports, and presentations.
