Job Description:
Material Scientist (M/F)

Role Overview:
We are looking for an individual who is dedicated to laboratory research while simultaneously demonstrating a proactive and entrepreneurial approach.

Role Responsibilities:
As a Material Scientist, you will be responsible for:

- Design and develop new materials based on process-structure-property relationships. Perform proof-of-concept assessment and create prototypes. Iterate material design based on resulting performance and customers’ feedback.
- Design and execute experiments to assess the properties and performance of various materials, including but not limited to adhesives, composites and encapsulants.
- Maintain detailed records of laboratory work procedures and test results in the electronic laboratory notebook. Analyze experimental data and prepare technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct technology scouting to understand industry and technology trends including the latest relevant developments in materials science.
- Proactively look for opportunities to gain IP and create commercial advantage through product innovation.
- Ensure that all activities are in line with Environment, Health and Safety principles, Ethics & Compliance and International Trade Compliance guidelines.

Experience and Competencies:
What we are looking for:

- PhD degree in in materials science and engineering or polymer chemistry.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in materials research and development.
- Good knowledge of polymer chemistry and physics particularly thermoset polymers.
- Expertise in materials modeling would be a plus.
- Passion to learn and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Effective oral and written English communication skills.
