Key responsibilities:

- Responsible for EHS in Manufacturing Complex 1 (MC1) with 1000 associates, specific focus on safety culture and the contact person for all safety topics
- Ensure compliance with occupational safety regulations and Lonza standards
- Develop and implement EHS concepts, programs and risk mitigation strategies together with the technology leads and key stakeholders in MC1
- Lead a team of EHS specialists to establish and maintain the next generation of EHS for MC1
- Networking with EHS peers in different buildings
- Ensure Safety Assessment for new product introduction; inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity
- Steer with the team the coordination of incident investigations and corrective action plans and activities
- Initiate and organize safety trainings
- Responsible for the overall EHS concept of MC1 (including potential hazards, business continuity, training, point of contact regarding access and evacuation topics)

Key requirements:

- University degree in Pharmaceutical Technology, Chemistry, Process Engineering, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology or equivalent. Master’s preferred.
- Degree as ‘Sicherheitsingenieur’ (Safety engineer) EKAS (SUVA)
- Fluent in German and English
- Relevant work experience in a similar position within bio-manufacturing or pharmaceutical industries
- Proven process understanding in Biopharma manufacturing (cGMP & safety aspects)
- Very strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong presentation skills for developing and delivering training to elevate knowledge, skills and behaviours at multiple levels of the organization
