Head of The Forum of Young Global Leaders

For nearly 20 years, the Forum of Young Global Leaders has invested in, developed, and inspired a remarkable group of leaders worldwide to move beyond their individual professional success to engage in greater impact on society and our planet, both individually and collectively.
As its 20th-anniversary approaches, the YGL Foundation aims to leverage its decades of success to continue accelerating the influence of values-based leaders on the world, with a particular focus on systemic change and collaboration. To achieve this, the Foundation will explore innovative avenues to grow the community, enhance programmatic offerings and facilitate individual and collective commitments to improving the state of the world, alongside the World Economic Forum.
The YGL Foundation is searching for an inspiring new leader to shape and carry out the vision for this next phase of the Foundation’s mission, supported by a sustainable operating model and implementation strategy for how this extraordinary community can be critical actors in developing collective solutions to the most pressing challenges of our time.
The Head of the Forum of Young Global Leaders key responsibilities include:
Vision and StrategyAssess the Foundation's current initiatives and programs to refine and enhance the overall strategy, ensuring alignment with its vision, mission, and core values- Lead and facilitate strategic visioning and planning processes, translating them into actionable steps and ensuring effective implementation- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with foundations, corporations, universities, and international organizations to maximize the foundation's impact- Cultivate and create synergies and joint initiatives with World Economic Forum's Centers and Communities
Community Development and ProgrammingEnsure a best-in-class cohort of YGLs each year and a diverse and influential community of changemakers- Lead the development of new YGL engagement strategies to enhance the YGL leadership journey- Design and manage a refined strategy focused on significantly increasing individual and collective action- Direct executive education programs, including cultivation of university partnerships, curation of content, development of funding models, and implementation of assessment tools- Oversee the planning and delivery of multiple large-scale events, all aligned with the YGL Foundation's mission and objectives
Operations, Finance and GovernanceDevelop and implement a strategy for the long-term financial sustainability of the YGL Foundation, including membership revenue, grant funding, and sponsorship- Oversee the effective management of budget and operating plans, ensuring they align with the strategic objectives, contribute to financial analysis and reporting and maintain compliance with donor requirements and Swiss law- Champion operational excellence and efficiency; identifying areas for improvement and innovation that best serve the Foundation’s mission and goals- Lead the planning and preparation for Board meetings, playing a pivotal role in facilitating discussions and ensuring follow-up on decisions and action items
LeadershipServe as the lead representative of the Foundation, engaging with community members, networks, partners, donors, and World Economic Forum members and constituents; cultivate strong relationships and strategic alliances to support the mission and drive meaningful change- Foster a collaborative and inclusive organizational culture that encourages continuous improvement and innovation; lead by example and champion multi-dimensional diversity within the team and the YGL community- Lead, recruit, manage and support the YGL team to ensure the success of its program; mentor team members to advance their annual objectives and professional development- Collaborate closely with the Heads of the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship, the Global Shapers Community, and World Economic Forum Centers to ensure alignment with the broader mission- Entrepreneurial: We seek an innovative leader who is motivated by demonstrating impact, capable of articulating a vision and seeing it through to success.-

Your expertise in mobilizing resources and working skillfully across sectors will elevate the foundation's network of support and collaborations.- Global Citizen: The ideal leader embodies a global perspective and a youth informed perspective of the world, possessing a rich background in diverse environments. With experience working with teams and communities from various cultures, you exemplify diplomacy and cultural sensitivity. Your facilitation, communication and listening skills will bridge gaps and foster understanding, cementing the foundation's global presence and influence.
