**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Director Client Services, Switzerland/Germany, the job holder is responsible for leading and developing an extraordinary Client Services Packaging Project Management organization to deliver a spectacular customer experience from the Basel site in Switzerland for the Clinical Trials Division. The Senior Manager is responsible to meet client requirements in terms of quality, compliance and delivery times to achieve and exceed business plan.
The position collaborates in partnership with Operational excellence leader and with key stakeholders to transform the department to enable profitable growth, improve quality and customer experience, and increase employee engagement.
Delivery of these objectives will be achieved through the leadership, coaching and development of the entire team enabling the introduction of pioneering working practices and innovative, value adding technologies. These activities will be carried out in accordance with current statutory, regulatory and company safety and quality standards as well as our Practical Process Improvements Business System and the Thermo Fisher 4i Values.
Success in this role will be proven through increased customer satisfaction, Hands-on, on time and in full project delivery to hit our growth & profitability targets and improve our supply chain performance for our customers, our employees and ultimately the patients we serve.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Work closely with Pharma & Site leadership Team and provide Hands-on leadership to the project management team to streamline processes to improve the customer experience.
- Lead, mentor and develop an effective and motivated team that delivers departmental business objectives through a culture of customer centricity & continuous improvement.
- Prepare, lead and implement proactive risk mitigation strategies to ensure optimal results.
- Demonstrate Role Model Leadership in line with the Role Model Leader Competencies
- Lead and support the project managers workload to ensure that internal/external timescales are achieved.
- Supervise performance against defined critical metrics taking appropriate actions where these are not achieved
- Following company procedures, recruit, onboard and develop personnel ensuring that resource levels meet business plan requirements.
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of annual and mid-year performance reviews.
- Establish department goals.
- Establish, delegate and supervise departmental projects, objectives and initiatives.
- Lead and participate in the regular review and updates of the sections SOP’s ensuring employees are trained or made aware of any changes and communicating with who may be impacted by the change.
- Ensure that the team delivers assessments of clinical supplies and contracts in conjunction with business plan and production, to help design supply chain solutions. Take the lead where the trials are particularly complex or business critical.
- Provide senior level consultation and support, improvements and expand service line offerings to exceed the client’s needs.
- Leads and facilitates Project Managers with client problem and solution process
- Take part in senior management meetings and provide relevant information to the meeting including project updates and key business performance indicators
- Working with the group to optimize the production balancing the client requirements with the best use of available production capacity. Where possible to work towards using standard components for production.
- Ensuring that defense bids/customer visits/Teleconferences are adequately resourced. Working with Purchasing and quotes, client services Distribution and Sales to develop business leads and market intelligence.
**Minimum Requirements/Qualifications**:
- Master degree or equivalent certification
- Proven experience (5+ Years) in people leadership, project management or business management applied to GMP manufacturing and packaging of clinical trials
- Customer centricity attitude and passion for driving hands-on Project Management Teams in a dynamic environment
- Ability to overcome obstacles and achieve key outcomes and follow through to get things done and deliver what is promised.
- Strong social skills and the ability to connect and positively influence leadership and individuals at all levels of the organization
- A comprehensive problem solver who can evaluate from an enterprise-wide perspective to integrate and streamline systems for efficient benefit.
