Why we are recruiting
The Cybercrime Atlas is a collaborative effort to build an action-orientated global knowledge-base of the cybercriminal landscape. The atlas works to enable systematic mitigation of cybercrime through cooperation and policy recommendations. The Cybercrime Atlas will bring together global businesses, law enforcement agencies and cybercrime investigators to collaborate against cybercrime.
The Cybercrime Atlas was first conceptualized by the World Economic Forum Partnership against Cybercrime community. Since August 2021, several members of the community have led a working group of specialized analysts. The working group performed a proof of concept through deep dives on 12 cybercrime campaigns using only publicly available information.
The Cybercrime Atlas Project Management Office (PMO) was launched under the platform of the World Economic Forum to ensure sustained engagement from global public-private actors, which is crucial to unlock the potential of this collaborative effort and ensure robust governance. The PMO is established with support from four Grantors: Fortinet, Microsoft, PayPal and Santander
The PMO’s purpose is threefold: First to scale up the Cybercrime Atlas research and support a growing community of contributors. Second, to validate the value and impact of the Cybercrime Atlas. Lastly, to set governance, policies and procedures that will ensure a sustainable collaborative effort, and to prepare the ground for a long-term implementation of the concept.
The PMO staff will include the Lead and a community coordinator and will be hosted in the World Economic Forum’s premises in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Cybercrime Atlas Initiative Lead will be responsible for developing and leading the PMO. This is a position funded for an initial 2-year period, with an option to extend for a third year.
Reporting Lines & Interactions
The Cybercrime Atlas Lead reports to the Executive Steering Board of the Cybercrime Atlas Initiative. Internally, within the World Economic Forum, the Cybercrime Atlas Lead reports directly to the Head of Strategy within the Centre for Cybersecurity. The Cybercrime Atlas Lead will oversee the Cybercrime Atlas Community Coordinator. The Cybercrime Atlas Lead will be expected to build working relationships with colleagues across the organisation and a variety of global stakeholders.
Breakdown of main responsibilities- Build and oversee a PMO designed to enable the success of the Cybercrime Atlas Initiative.- Manage the day-to-day activities of the Cybercrime Atlas Initiative; including overseeing the Cybercrime Atlas Community Coordinator, seconded experts, and the working groups.- Develop and implement appropriate governance, polices and processes, under the guidance of the Executive Steering Board, to ensure a robust and sustainable cooperation.- Build the Cybercrime Atlas community and manage the relations with its members, including approval process, in collaboration with the Forum’s business engagement teams- Develop relationships with law enforcement agencies and other non-business stakeholders- Organise working groups and in-person gatherings to strengthen collaboration between members of the community as required- Facilitate feedback loops and exchanges between the Cybercrime Atlas Initiative and the Forum’s Partnership against Cybercrime- Communicate and amplify the activities and successes of the initiative internally and externally- Successful delivery of an operational Project Management Office and a defined workplan and policies- Feedback from Executive Steering Board on the effectiveness of the Project Management Office- Expansion of the Atlas Community and advancing the impact of the initiative- Delivery of quarterly meetings of the Executive Steering Board and gathering of desired working groups- Developing the strategy and roadmap for the future implementation of the Cybercrime Atlas.
Preferred Requirements and Experience- 8-10 years of professional experience with developing project management offices or similar operations- Knowledge and expertise in cybercrime or related topics.- Academic background, including a master’s degree in business, political science, engineering, computer science or related disciplines- Proven track record of conceptualizing, building and leading multistakeholders impact-oriented initiatives-
