The Chief of Staff is a senior member of the Lonza Finance Leadership Team, responsible for conducting strategic financial analyses to drive value creation and supporting the Group CFO in key projects and initiatives. He/ she is actively involved in conducting capital markets analyses for Lonza around company valuation, strategic capital allocation, value creation opportunities, financial benchmarking and investor positioning. He/ she leads key strategic projects within the Finance function and beyond and provides general support to the Group CFO and the Finance Leadership Team. The role implies direct exposure to and regular active dialogue with the CFO, CEO, the Finance Leadership Team and senior executives across the Company and possibly to the Board of Directors

Key responsibilities:

- Support the Group CFO to prepare for key internal and external events like external reporting, internal townhalls, Board meetings, and others Provide insightful analytics on capital markets topics (share price, trading valuation)
- Support Investors Relations in crafting financial “storyline” for investors and analysts; preparing for key investor touchpoints; anticipating and addressing investors questions/requests and focus areas; coordinating the investor targeting process and investor segmentation approach
- Support Group strategy discussions by facilitating strategic capital allocation decisions through insights and analyses and identifying strategic value creation opportunities
- Partner with other Functions to accelerate non-operational drivers for value creation (e.g., capital structure, funding costs, dividend/ buyback, etc.) and support interactions with external stakeholders such as rating agencies and auditors
- Regularly assess Lonza performance against external benchmarks (peers, analyst/ investor expectations) and derive conclusions for business steering
- Support the Group CFO and the Finance Leadership Team in key initiatives and projects as well as in day-to-day operations
- Build and maintain strong relationship with business heads, divisional finance teams, corporate functions and other stakeholders within and outside Finance

Key requirements:

- M.A., M.Sc. + MBA / PhD within Finance and/or Accounting
- Strong corporate finance and capital markets expertise.
- Expertise in driving strategic, financial or operational projects in a Healthcare and/or manufacturing and CDMO context.
- Executive presence and ability to manage senior stakeholders.
- Drive and pro-active attitude.
- Persuasiveness and strong communication skills. Agility and experience of operating in a dynamic context of a growing company
