Chief of Garage* - Ground Support Equipment

**Responsibilities**:

- Operational management of the Zurich garage, including effective planning of work for the team, complete implementation and professional execution of all maintenance and repair orders as well as for the operational and road safety of all vehicles and equipment in dnata Fleet and third party customers
- Ensure the most cost-effective solutions are in place and the most efficient maintenance approach is followed (e.g. understanding and eliminating root cause of the issue, utilizing up-cycling and refurbishment solutions to reduce the cost of repairs and minimize an environmental impact)
- Ensure minimum downtime of the equipment, minimize and optimize GSE ground-time and maintenance time
- Together with the GSE Manager create and execute the investment strategy and operating budgets. Actively participate in the GSE demand analysis and development of the replacement strategy
- Ensure highest quality of work through well maintained work environment, workshop equipment, test equipment and methods
- Assigning work and providing professional support to subordinate employees, participating in their further training. Taking into account pedagogical principles and motivational factors, performing operational part of the training
- Personnel management (setting goals, placing orders, success control, recruitment and appraisal interviews)
- Actively seek opportunities and enable internships and trainings for young professionals
- Measures to increase and maintain quality and employee satisfaction
- Working closely with operational departments to understand and meet their business requirements. Facilitate negotiations and relationship management with the third-party companies to ensure timely and cost
- effective resolution of the issues. Evaluate and maintain the preferred suppliers/manufacturers list
- Actively and regularly perform mechanical duties, diagnostics and root cause of the issues, onsite and on-call support for the equipment in the operation
- Coordinate and document evaluation of the new equipment in consultation with the Corporate GSE Manager, Chief Operation Officer and department heads
- Active involvement and fair distribution of piquet duties
- Ensure all necessary occupational safety and accident prevention measures
- Implementation of regular internal quality measures and participation in various internal and external audits
- Integrate and implement the safety, security and environmental requirements of the Federal Office of Civil Aviation, the airport, the authorities and the customers as well as dnata into the operational processes - coordinate measures and implementation with the Safety & Compliance department
- Supporting GSE Manager in the procurement process, projects (e.g. MMS implementation), various management duties and completing various administrative tasks required by the role

Your Profile
- Professional experience as a car mechanic, construction machine or truck engineer with several years in the coordinator/ team leader or workshop manager role
- Entrepreneurial thinking, leadership skills and organizational awareness
- High work and personal culture
- Experience with hydraulic equipment will be an asset
- Ability to communicate, work in a team and motivate
- Good computer literacy (MS Office, MMS)
- Strong communication skills in German and English, French will be an advantage
- Ability to influence a range of stakeholders, including senior executives, vendors and ability to facilitate constructive dialogue
- Self-motivation and focus on delivery
