**We are looking to recruit a highly motivated laboratory technician to join the Diard lab.**

**About the Diard lab**

**Your position**

The post holder will provide scientific, technical, and administrative support to scientific projects. Duties will include general laboratory tasks, mice handling, and performing basic molecular biology experiments, such as bacterial genomic/plasmid DNA isolation and PCR. Typical activities include:

- Providing experimental/technical support to lab members
- Responsible for general lab logistics/administration
- Undertaking any necessary training identified for professional development
- Comply with Health and Safety regulations

**Your profile**
- Hold or be close to completion of BSc/MSc in Biology or equivalent education
- Highly motivated and organised
- Show some degree of independence in conducting laboratory tasks
- You are willing to work with mice (oral gavage and fecal sample collection)
- Prior experience in molecular biology and microbiology is desirable but not essential

The position is initially for one year, with the possibility of further extension up to three years. Salary and benefits according to University of Basel standards.
