**Ridgeline Discovery is looking for an **(Associate) Director** **Chemistry**.


**Ridgeline Discovery**, a Versant Ventures Discovery Engine, creates and operates Versant-financed innovative biotech companies in partnership with entrepreneurs, industry, and leading academics across Europe. In recent years, Ridgeline has assembled an international team of >50 highly experienced drug discovery professionals and built and operated several new successful companies, including Black Diamond Therapeutics (NASDAQ: BDTX), Bright Peak Therapeutics and Monte Rosa Therapeutics (NASDAQ: GLUE). Ridgeline is currently expanding its capabilities in Basel to support further company creation efforts in small molecules, biologics, and gene/cell therapy with focus on oncology and immunology.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Work closely with the leadership team to define the chemistry strategy
- Lead medicinal chemistry programs for one or more portfolio companies as required
- Drive state-of-the-art multi-parameter medicinal chemistry optimization
- Effective leadership and management of CRO chemistry teams
- Contribute to defining scientific strategies and goals within a project team setting
- Maintain and grow scientific knowledge and technical skills through scientific literature

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- PhD in Chemistry with 10+ years of experience in medicinal chemistry/drug discovery
- Track record of contributions in drug design and discovery as demonstrated in publications and/or patents
- Excellent problem-solving skills in synthetic chemistry and lead discovery/optimization
- Drive to work in a multidisciplinary environment and to contribute with medicinal chemistry the advancement of novel therapies
- Highly motivated, capable, and striving to adapt new technologies, learn and grow
- Strong team player and familiar with cross-functional matrix teams
- Comfortable to multi-task, and work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Fluency in spoken and written English and strong communication skills for productive interactions within multidisciplinary teams, with external collaborators and stakeholders
