Regional Expert Input and Medical Education, drives the strategy for Expert Input and Medical Education for the region within a given Therapeutic Area and serves as a key professional interface with global and regional internal stakeholders, scientific leaders, healthcare professionals, and scientific/medical societies. The GEI & MedEd team mission is to drive world-class, evidence-based global & regional advisory meetings and medical educational activities aiming to advance healthcare.

The individual member of the team provides strategic leaderships in the development of the respective educational programs and is accountable for the successful end-to-end planning and execution of global or regional advisory boards, expert input meetings and Ex-U.S. global and regional medical education programs during the International Congresses or as standalone company meetings. The Individual will build and maintain relationships to global medical & scientific leaders and priority organizations. The EU Expert Input and Medical Education role is responsible to analyze and assess regional needs and to represent those in the development of SMART plans. The role will partner with all therapeutic, functional areas & countries to assure disciplined execution of Medical Education activities.

In collaboration with Medical strategy teams, the Associate Director develops an annual plan of programs that considers status of product life cycles, as well as the business goals of GMA and our Research & Development Division. The role requires an excellent understanding of regional and local regulations and compliance requirements to assure proper execution of meetings in line with rules and regulations.

**Responsibilities**

Expert Input
- Strategic leadership in the development of Expert Input Fora and Advisory Boards with external scientific experts
- Accountable for design and implementation of all programs within a Therapeutic Area
- Lead the execution of end-to-end franchise specific expert input activities (Advisory Boards, Expert Input Forum-EIF meetings and Consulting Service Agreements -CSAs) that are in alignment with the global and regional medical plan, scientific platform and the market needs.
- Accountable for the assessment of expert credentials and qualifications in accordance with established SOPs
- Assure documentation of services that the hired HCP will provide and proper calculation of fee for service that is in line with the fair market value.
- Review / approve all charters and action memos for expert input activities for the global or regional franchise, with full accountability to ensure documents have clearly articulated the business need
- Lead the planning and execution of Advisory Boards and Expert Input Forums (EIFs)
- Lead and manage the oversight of the meeting planning agency
- Develops strategies and innovative solutions for future engagement of scientific leaders to gather their expert input
- Design and implements efficient processes for the conduct of EIFs

Non-Promotional Medical Education
- Strategic leadership in the development of Medical Education Programs with external scientific experts
- Accountable for design and implementation of all programs within a Therapeutic Area
- Lead the effective planning, organization and execution of end-to-end franchise specific global and regional medical education programs that are in alignment with the franchise strategic annual medical plan, scientific platform and market needs
- Partner with key Scientific Leaders to engage as contracted faculty of the program
- Align key stakeholder on meeting content and supervise the execution of the program
- Responsible for the appropriate conduct of speaker briefing in line with local and regional regulations
- Partner with local teams to ensure selection of delegates
- Lead and manage the oversight of the meeting planning agency
- Develop strategies and innovative solutions for future Medical Education activities
- Design and Implement efficient processes for the conduct of Medical Education Programs

Other Key Responsibilities
- Design new multichannel and innovative digital solutions to implement meetings
- Ensure that expert input programs, medical education programs and CSAs adhere to our company and country policies and standards
- Accountable for ensuring that appropriate ABC (anti-bribery, anti-corruption) checks are complete including Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and that contracts for US and Global experts reflect appropriate terms and conditions that are consistent with country specific guidance and Fair Market Value-FMV guidelines
- Detailed understanding of internal and external governing policies and regulations in implementing medical education across different geographies
- Provide strategic guidance to regional Medical Affairs teams for the selection of program types which best support the overarching Medical Strategy
