- We're looking for an experienced colleague who:
- Will take on responsibility and ownership of non-financial risk models, more precisely in the area of transaction monitoring.
- Drives model development, monitoring, and optimization, interacts with multiple stakeholders ranging from senior management, over model risk management, IT, to financial crime prevention teams who are the final users of the model’s output and supports internal review and audit functions as well as regulatory requests.
- Ensures proper risk coverage and adherence to UBS’ model governance framework to manage model risk, including adequate quantitative and qualitative model assessment and validation, data quality completeness and integrity, etc.
- Provide oversight and guidance to define relevant methodology/approach in a clear and concise manner to support the model optimization efforts and maintain standards for our methodology including segmentation, rule tuning, peer grouping and sampling (below the Line)
- Document models in line with UBS model governance policies and standards

- You'll be working in our Group Compliance and Regulatory Governance (GCRG) Model Operations team in Geneva. As part of GCRG Methodologies and Models, which is our model and innovation hub for UBS non-financial risk management, you'll play an important role in ensuring our models comply with our global model risk governance framework and help us drive forward the continuous improvement of the models.

**Your expertise**
- University degree in Computer Science, Physics, Statistics, Mathematics or similar
- 5 or more years of analytics / statistical / rule-based model development/ validation/ ownership experience in financial services, risk & compliance domain
- Strong domain knowledge in non-financial risks, preferably Financial Crime Prevention, Market Surveillance, or employee monitoring and experience in how these risks can effectively be monitored using models
- Understanding of model risk management / model governance requirements and processes (e.g., following SR 11-7/15-18/15-19). Role requires thorough understanding of model regulatory framework and ability to execute as a model owner with mínimal guidance, meeting documentation guidelines and timelines, triangulating with global model risk management teams, and independently being able to address model risk findings.
- Able to work independently, excellent project management, communication & presentation skills with strong focus in soft/interpersonal skills. This includes end to end project ownership, manages critical path of delivery timelines, mitigates blockers and escalates as needed, avoids delivery surprises by managing timelines, expectations, and escalating early warning indicators proactively while avoiding surprises for all project stakeholders
- High proficiency and fluency in verbal and written English required. Further languages are a plus.
