Industrial Chemist

Your mission at Climeworks is to optimize the synthesis, and characterize, structural polymers used as solid sorbents for Direct Air Capture (DAC); moreover, you will support the production of these sorbents from laboratory to pilot scale with external partners.
- You will be part of our multidisciplinary team of polymer chemists, organic chemists, and materials scientists.
- You implement a safety-first culture and ensure that Climeworks and all work-related standards are being met.
- You will be responsible for your own goals and for the reporting of your work.
- You have completed a degree in chemistry or material science, with a focus on industrial chemistry.
- You have already gained experience in a research laboratory and ideally worked in an industrial environment before.
- You have a fundamental and applied knowledge of polymer synthesis & modification.
- You are motivated to do hands-on laboratory work.
- You gathered experience with porous particle/powder characterization, such as mercury porosimetry, nitrogen adsorption or dynamic vapor sorption.
- Your previous knowledge of carbon capture is an advantage.
- You are open to travel up to 20% of the time. You are fluent in English. German is a plus.
