**Engineering Manager - Renewables**:

In this role you will manage a team of designers/engineers to deliver high quality, cost effective and timely engineering solutions to customers and according to internal and external targets and quality standards. You will formulate plans, allocate resources to meet the agreed targets, like for example customer project delivery schedules, product cost and quality improvements. Additionally, you will initiate and coordinate development and continuous improvement to strengthen the engineering and design capabilities. Collaboration with R&D, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Factory etc. to ensure the best overall utilization of resources will also be part of your role.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Provide technical solutions during the sales phase, support project management and production (incl. quality) team during manufacturing & testing and ensure smooth commissioning.
- Keep the product costs under control by proactively identify opportunities for cost improvements. Collaborate with supply chain to meet the contractual obligations & suppliers to carry out necessary tests and verify the specifications.
- Ensure timely 4th level support for product/project issues and implementation of quality enhancements in the product. Coordinate together with project management & technical support roll-out for the installed base and in the production.
- Manage technical risks proactively and ensures completion of risk assessments, opportunity assessments (e.g. variation orders and claims) and implementation of resulting actions across projects.
- Participates in defining the annual budget for area of responsibility and is accountable for managing performance against agreed financial targets and constraints.
- Define performance & behavior targets and ensure that the goals are in line with global/local targets. Actively implement ABB values, HSE, Integrity, D&I and other people related strategies within the local engineering team.
- Prepare and ensure implementation of operating guidelines for the team and support the local division in establishing, deploying and improving frameworks and processes.
- Ensure that HSE and integrity related standards are respected and take care of guidance, motivation, coaching and development of subordinates following HR policies.

**Your background**:

- Minimum 8 years of work experience including leading teams in an industrial environment.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. electrical or mechanical engineering).
- Strong business acumen and stakeholder management experience with internal and external parties (e.g. customers, suppliers, certification authorities, etc.).
- Recognized as a team player with excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel 10-20 % per year.
- Fluent in English, German would be an advantage.
