**21.co** is the parent company of **21Shares**, one of the world’s largest issuers of cryptocurrency-backed exchange traded products (ETPs) - which is powered by Onyx, a proprietary technology platform used to issue and operate cryptocurrency ETPs for 21Shares and third parties.
**21Shares **was one of the first to issue a bitcoin ETP in 2019 and manages a suite of ETFs in the U.S., including a spot bitcoin ETF and 40’ Act vehicles.
The company has offices in Zurich, London, and New York. 21.co was founded in 2018 by Hany Rashwan and Ophelia Snyder. Cathie Wood, Chief Executive Officer & Chief Investment Officer of ARK Invest is a board member.
**About the Role**:
**What you will be doing**:
- Working with numerous business teams (ETP, Product, Sales, Operations, and more) regarding the legal and regulatory requirements for the set up and maintenance of our financial products.
- Responsibility for drafting, amending and maintaining European ETP product documentation including, prospectuses, final terms, services agreements and listing arrangements.
- Working with the Capital Markets Team on complying with all necessary listing requirements at national and international exchanges.
- Working with the Product and Engineering teams on new product and technology launches, including advising on cutting edge legal and regulatory issues.
- Providing support in monitoring and advising the business on emerging legal and regulatory changes, risks and opportunities as it relates to exchange traded products and digital assets.
- Working with outside counsel as appropriate and partnering with compliance and risk teams as necessary.
- Negotiating, drafting and advising on commercial contracts, including service provider agreements, index licenses, technology agreements, distribution agreements, customer contracts, vendor contracts, software licenses, consultancy agreements and marketing agreements.
- Working directly with internal and external clients in the contract negotiation process including ensuring that sales and the business comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and company policies.
**Desired Qualifications**:
- A commercially minded, passionate, and fully qualified attorney admitted to practice in Switzerland, Europe, and/or the United Kingdom.
- 3+ years experience practicing law, including financial services laws.
- Experience in financial services law and regulation, in particular related to exchange traded products (e.g. PRIIPS,MIFID II, Prospectus Regulation, Disclosure and Transparency Rules) and securities laws area.
- Comfortable in dealing with various commercial law matters, including commercial contract negotiations, drafting and reviewing.
- Familiar with performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders.
- A high level of understanding of processes, policies and key relationships, with an ability to monitor, design and continuously improve processes.
- Good knowledge of the wider financial industry.
- Interest in digital assets and blockchain technology is a plus, though it is not required for the role.
**This role is based in Zurich or London and will be expected to work from our office in a hybrid model Monday - Wednesday.
