Key job responsibilities
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Senior Data Architect to help our commercial customers take advantage of cloud technology with their data and accelerate their journey towards obtaining business outcomes, take data driven decisions quicker, and turning data into insights. You will focus on delivering innovative solutions on accelerating customers adoption of cloud and driving the value of their investment. You will create solutions by mapping common customer business problems to reusable services focused on operational effectiveness and business value.

You will work with customers to assist in:

- The delivery of high-quality engagements around services, solution areas, and technologies into diverse client environments leveraging available IP and following defined delivery methodologies and service offerings.
- Capturing requirements, business goals and objectives and helping create technology solutions using AWS Services
- Exert technical influence over multiple teams, increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing your deep knowledge and experience.
- Lead technical discussions with customer IT executives and hands-on delivery teams to help enterprises speed their adoption of new technologies and practices. (e.g., serverless, containers, microservices).

As such, Consultants must have the ability to travel to client locations to sell and deliver professional services as needed. This can vary depending on the customers supported. Please check with the hiring team for more information.

A day in the life
As a senior Data Architect consultant your day can either be focused on full-speed delivery on a customer, on creating a pattern out of a recurrent pattern solutions, on leading a C-Level discussion to show the art-of-possible within your technical field of expertise, or prioritising the activities to accelerate business outcomes. This makes the job to have a high learning curve, be in sync with the latest technologies and in-sync with AWS Service teams.

About the team
AWS Professional Services leads customers and partners in the business and technical workstreams essential to becoming a modern digital enterprise. Taking direction from AWS Sales and Service Teams, ProServe’s strategic focus is to help AWS earn the trust of large commercial and public sector organizations. In support of this mission, the EMEA-Shared Delivery Team (SDT) was established and is organized by specialization (Eg. Advisory, Engagement Management, Emergent Technologies and Intelligent Platforms - ETIP) - with a single threaded leader for each.

You will be part of the ETIP team, an EMEA Level team with specialties on AIML, IoT, Data Analytics, Data Warehouse, or Blockchain.
- Experience with data lakes and data warehouses
- Experience with migrating mission critical database environments from one platform to another
- Background in software development / script development (Java, Python, Ruby, Javascript, C/C++, or similar)
- Experience in AWS Platforms and Services
- AWS Associate or Professional Architect Certification
- Experience with Agile execution, cloud migration factory
