Result of Service
- On the basis of the research and consultation undertaken during the initial stages of the Child Project PPG Phase, prepare and finalise a baseline report summarising the current policies, processes, portfolios, practices, gaps and opportunities observed in the private and public finance sector to assess and manage the risks and impacts related to chemical and plastic pollution in the agriculture sector and to align financial portfolios with global, regional and national goals.
- Provide recommendations on how banks could integrate chemicals and plastic pollution in existing or planned policies, processes, portfolios, metrics, financial instruments and practices relating to financing the agriculture sector.
- In a participatory manner, support in the development of proposed activities to be implemented in the implementation phase of the Child Project.
- Provide support in preparing various documents to be submitted to GEF’s upstream review, including the baseline report; the alternative scenario and proposed workplan for the implementation phase; the stakeholders engagement strategy; the CEO endorsement document and any other submission documents.
- Provide support as needed in engaging with GEF during the upstream review process.
- Adjust as needed the documents submitted to GEF’s upstream review to incorporate GEF’s comments, including the baseline report; the alternative scenario and proposed workplan for the implementation phase; the stakeholders engagement strategy; the CEO endorsement document and any other submission documents.
- Provide support to stakeholders outreach and obtention of co-finance letters from co-finance partners.
- Coordinate, as relevant, with UNEP FI colleagues working on sustainable land use/agriculture and other relevant UNEP / UNEP FI colleagues, and with the executing agencies of the Child Project and other agencies involved in other GEF FARM child projects, and include the input received from them in the baseline report, the alternative scenario, the work plan proposal, the stakeholders engagement strategy, the CEO endorsement document and any other submission document.
- Make best use of the work developed by UNEP FI in this space, including but not limited to ENCORE, Good Food Finance Network, etc. to determine how to build from the existing baseline of activities as far as possible.
- Coordinate, as relevant, with the executing agencies of the Child Project and other agencies involved in other GEF FARM child projects, and include in the research, study, baseline report and work plan proposal, the input received from other agencies.
- Provide input as needed to the work developed in the final stage of the PPG Phase of the Child Project, including to support the work developed to address GEF’s comments under the upstream review, support in preparing all final submission documents to GEF and support as needed after final submission to GEF is made.
