Retail Project Manager

**Job Description**:
This opportunity combines construction engineering, planning, project management, facilities management, and contract management. It requires a person who can show proven ability in the planning and design, and project management / control of new and the enhancement of existing retail locations.
- The successful applicant will play an integral role in the compliant development and implementation of GM’s European retail network;
- Responsible for overseeing construction engineering, planning, and design
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and present formal documentation for approval when required;
- Ensure that contracts are fit for purpose, cost effective and incorporate appropriate Service Level Agreements;
- Provide overall site management, coordination, planning, specification of business proposals and coordination of partners involved;
- Facilitate and work with other stakeholders on the due diligence evaluation of new opportunities
- Ensure that contracted resources deliver work to meet duration and quality targets, addressing and ensuring the correction of under-performance issues
- Support contractors’ work and help them to achieve higher performance levels

**Essential**:

- Ability to work remotely with multi-discipline teams in various countries;
- Able to establish and maintain cross border contracts with 3rd party suppliers;
- Ability to balance operational and commercial needs with regional legal requirements;
- Develop and continuously refine on-site processes related to various, unique situations;
- Resource contract management, including approving invoices and conducting annual performance reviews.

**Additional Job Description**:

- B.Sc in Civil Engineering, Engineering or Architecture, or Country equivalent
- Project management, construction, or engineering experience with a proven record of retail design and build
- Proven track record of managing both new builds and the enhancement of existing warehouses/ logistics buildings
- Construction market experience in one or more EU countries
- Project Management experience from design phase through implementation and operation
- Experienced at negotiating construction, procurement, and labor contracts in EU zone
- Fluency in German and/or another EU language, both written and spoken
