Our Material Science Lab is responsible for small-scale investigations regarding the crystallization, polymorphism, and salt or cocrystal formation of active pharmaceutical ingredients. Within this lab we are looking for a research technician / scientifiic associate for crystallization experiments and solid-state form analytics (non-GMP).
**Responsibilities**:
- Independent planning and executing small-scale crystallization experiments based on instructions
- Document experiments in an electronic lab journal in English
- Analyze samples from own experiments as well as for other labs with assigned techniques such as X-ray diffraction, microscopy, spectroscopic and thermal methods
- Evaluate the generated data in collaboration with colleagues
- Present results in lab team
- Maintain laboratory and equipment operational, clean and safe, order supplies
- Master open-access instruments and be responsible for the operation and maintenance of assigned instruments
- Apprenticeship as laboratory technician or equivalent education with focus on physico-chemical or analytical aspects
- Ideally 3-5 years of work experience
- Good communication and team-working skills
- Fluent in German or French, good knowledge of English, in particular with regard to clear and concise reporting
- Well organized
- Disposition for routine work

- Scientific curiosity
- Familiarity with crystallization screening experiments or solid-state form characterization methods (e.g., XRPD, DSC, DVS, TGA, microscopy, Raman spectroscopy)
- Willingness to learn new skills and techniques and to understand the concept behind experiments
