Reviser, Spanish

This position is located in the Spanish Translation Section, Languages Service, Division of Conference Management, Department for General Assembly and Conference Management, Geneva. The incumbent works under the general supervision of the Chief of the Spanish Translation Section.

**Responsibilities**:
Within delegated authority, the Reviser will be responsible for the following duties:

- Carries out linguistic research and provides input to multilingual terminology databases and related reference tools.
- Maintains a certain speed and volume output, due account being taken of the complexity of the text received for revision.
- Meets deadlines established for the production of documents.
- Supervises the work of small groups of translators.
- Acts as Programming Officer, as required.
- Collects and analyzes data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights through graphs, charts, tables and reports using data visualization methods to enable data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting.
- Performs other related duties as required.

TECHNOLOGICAL AWARENESS:
Education
A first-level degree from a university or institution of equivalent status is required.

Job - Specific Qualification

Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.

Work Experience
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in translation, précis-writing, editing, self-revision, verbatim-reporting, copy preparing, proofreading or production editing is required.

Out of the aforementioned experience, three (3) years of experience working within a multilingual setting is desirable.

At least three (3) years of translation experience in the United Nations Common System is desirable.

Experience in the use of standard computer-assisted-translation (CAT) tools is desirable.

At least three (3) years experience in self-revision is desirable.

Two (2) years or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
