**The main tasks and responsibilities**
- Contribute to the implementation and evolution of Glencore’s Health, Safety, Environment, Communities & Human Rights (HSEC&HR) strategy, including associated environmental Technical Standards and guidance, in alignment with Glencore’s Environment Policy
- Support global continuous improvement through contributing to the design of systems and processes to monitor, assure and report on environmental management performance
- Assist in the ongoing management and periodic update of the Glencore’s Environment Incident Reporting System
- Deliver technical support to the business in the areas of environmental performance, including Environment baseline, risk and impact assessments.
- Closure Planning and Financial Provisioning, Energy and Climate Change, Biodiversity and Ecosystems Services, Land Stewardship and Rehabilitation, Geochemistry (including Acid Rock Drainage and metal leaching), Water Management (including Hydrogeology), Waste Management, Incident Management and Reporting and Contaminated Sites Assessment and Auditing (assurance and verification)
- Support the development and implementation of assurance processes for Glencore’s environmental management, as required, including the ICMM Performance Expectations review
- Support data management and ensure timely and accurate delivery of any required information for internal and external reporting, including the Annual Report, Annual Sustainability Report, and ICMM-required reporting
- Support monitoring and trends analysis of Environmental Incidents data reported by the global business
- Provide support and group-level monitoring of performance related to Environmental objectives, targets, and metrics
- Foster a proactive approach to the management of environment with Glencore’s Corporate HSEC & Human Rights and Sustainability Group, Departmental and Regional HSEC Leads, and other relevant internal stakeholders, to encourage leveraging of best practices across the business
- Provide coordination of environment training programmes and workshops to assist in the implementation of technical standards across the business

**Minimum requirements**
- Degree Qualified (Environmental Science/Engineering discipline) and relevant in-field experience (10-15 years)
- Extensive understanding, experience and expertise in environment management issues, governance, and performance within a global multinational setting
- Experience with global operations and international standards such as, ISO14001, ISO 50001, UN Principles, UN Sustainable Development Goals, GRI Standards, ISSB, TCFD, TNFD and Global Biodiversity Framework.
- Significant experience working in the extractives industry
- Fluency in English, with proficiency in Spanish, French or Russian will be highly regarded
- Holding a Swiss work permit or passport holder of CH / EU
