As Group Head of Accounting Policy, you will spearhead developments in a diverse set of accounting frameworks relevant for Zurich Group and ensure ongoing compliance. Leading a small and highly specialized function, you will be actively engaging with other departments and businesses across the globe to support decision making and reaching the right accounting conclusions. As part of the Group Financial Accounting and Reporting Leadership Team you will also support a wider transformation of the global Finance function towards forward-looking steering capabilities.

**What you will do**
- **Accounting Principles**: Own, develop, direct and maintain Group accounting principles under IFRS Accounting Standards, Swiss Statutory framework and Swiss Solvency Test market-consistent balance sheet reporting; seize opportunities for alignment to create value through a consistent reporting framework
- **Accounting Advisory**: Provide advisory services to Group functions and businesses globally, including complex accounting matters and M&A activities
- **Change management**: Respond to and support projects (including new consolidation and accounting system implementation) to meet evolving Zurich Group and regulatory requirements, adopting an agile and continuous improvement mindset to add value and simplify
- **People development**: Build strong capability and bench strength within the team to ensure the team is well positioned for changes in business environment including digital advancement

**What you bring**
- Profound understanding of IFRS framework and operational accounting under IFRS, including insurance contracts, valuation, hedging, impairment, and at least 12+ years of professional experience working with an audit, insurance or other financial services company
- Ability and experience communicating with senior management and influencing internal stakeholders
- Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to think strategically, communicate effectively and translate long-term strategic aims into shorter-term plans and goals
- Ability to efficiently evolve accounting frameworks to address a changing regulatory landscape
- Fluent spoken and written English, German would be an asset
