The Role
This role is an exciting opportunity to be a critical part of the people and talent engine fueling a high growth organization that is radically changing the biotech industry. The Sr. HR Generalist must be an experienced HR professional, able to build/sustain effective relationships at all levels of the CMC organization while also ensuring the efficient and effective execution of key Human Resources projects and objectives. Moderna is a unique company undergoing an intensive period of change and growth; this role will be involved in helping us build the HR organization of the future while also supporting the employees of today.

Here’s What You’ll Do

Work closely with the CMC HRBP team and CMC managers to ensure coordinated HR service delivery across the CMC organization.

Provide counsel to employees and managers in the areas of organizational effectiveness and development, talent management and coaching, HRIS systems, recruitment and employee relations.

Serve as a role model for working effectively in a matrix environment, working cross-functionally and assisting staff at multiple levels to optimize the performance of their teams and resolve issues

Contribute to creating solutions in such areas of organizational models, talent and career development, talent acquisition, and compensation, collaborating with HR colleagues across all COEs and HRBP teams on key projects and initiatives as well as execution of day-to-day tasks

Drive effective and fair employee relations practices, guiding managers and employees as needed to achieve optimal outcomes for all stakeholders.

Build deep understanding of our key HR processes and how they shape the employee experience and HR’s operational effectiveness; make thoughtful and impactful recommendations for how these processes can be improved/modified/automated to maximize effectiveness, efficiency and scale for the future.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

8+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally with significant time spent in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical production environment

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and/or business administration or equivalent experience required

Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

Experience with Workday or similar HRIS

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

Strong sense of priorities and able to handle various projects simultaneously, sometimes with short timelines, “hands-on” and “can-do” mentality, acting with urgency

Strong oral and written communication skills to influence and effectively engage internally & externally

Demonstrated agility and flexibility in shifting between strategic and tactical priorities, strong project management skills, and stakeholder management are critical for success in this role

A proven track record of developing value-added, yet pragmatic solutions that are aligned with the overall company strategy is particularly important

Experience with enterprise-wide initiatives in a fast growth environment is required, including skill in partnering with other members of the HR team

Ability to maintain discretion and work with highly confidential and/or protected information required

Ability to form strong partnerships and trust with employees regardless of level
