About the role:
As a Data Scientist within EF Educational Tours (ET), your work will help teachers and students discover more about the world and themselves through experiential, international travel. You’ll see a project from start to finish. You’ll help the business find areas of opportunity, perform more efficiently, and implement more data-driven strategies. You’ll be given the freedom, flexibility, and support to dive deep into a problem, brainstorm solutions, and work with others to turn those solutions into reality.
This role is embedded within the Commercial Steering team - a new, cross-departmental team focused on maximizing long-term customer and business success. This role will be focused on predicting and growing Customer Lifetime Value by developing the algorithms and tools to recommend and match the most suitable tour product to the preferences of each traveler while maintaining a well-balanced production plan.
As a Data Scientist your main objective is to turn data into insights by combining best-practices in data analytics, data science and predictive modeling. You will create models and easy-to-use APIs across other departments and teams to foster the adoption of Commercial Steering’s offerings. You are a team player with strong technical knowledge who is eager to dive deep, keen on learning, and has a passion for building products that help us provide the best customer experience for our travelers.
What we are looking for:
- Curiosity, an eye for detail, passion, and an entrepreneurial spirit
- Experience with predictive modeling, machine learning, and/or data-driven research
- Proficiency in querying and analyzing data stored in relational Databases and cloud-based data lake products / data warehouses
- Proficiency in R or Python
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to translate analytical results into a language that anyone can understand
- A desire to learn new and current technologies and go outside your technical comfort zone, with the pragmatism to find the most optimal solution for the problem
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field
